"Actually I bought two and they work great. Lee listed them in the
"For Sale" section here a few weeks ago and I had been looking for that
sort of thing for my cabs so I thought I would give them a try. Lee was
quick to respond and easy to deal with. He shipped the product out when
he said he would and they arrived today. "
"There are two parts, the arm that holds the mic and a plate that mounts
to the cabinet (thus allowing the Amp Clamp to be used with cabs that
have no front lip). The plate can be attached to the cab and it has a
track on the side that faces out. The arm that holds the mic has a bar
that slides into the track. Very simple and works perfectly, you could
mount the plate to the top, bottom or either side of the cab. I didn't
even permanently install the plates to my cabs tonight, I just slide the
plate under the cab and they worked great. Obviously the advantage to
mounting the plate is that you get the same mic placement every time,
and intend to do this as soon as I settle on the best placement for the
mic. "
"I'm using 57s on my cabs and I can get them right up against the grill
if I want to. "
"Just for the record I want to say that I didn't know Lee at all before
I bought these from him, I'm not promoting a friend here or anything
like that. I'm only starting this thread because there was another
thread a few weeks ago discussing this type of product and I figured
that since I got one I would tell you all about it."
"All in all I'm happy with the purchase. I think the price is
reasonable, the service was great and the product performs just as
promised.

"Recording myself playing acoustic, mic'd
instruments (acoustic guitars, mandolins, dobros, etc) at my studio/DAW
has always been a
hassle because it involved a boom stand and an approximation of where I
generally like the mic to be. It also required me to angle myself
awkwardly toward the mic stand and away from my keyboard/control
surface. I'd then have to make sure I was absolutely happy with the
track before I put the boom stand away because you never get the mic
placement exactly the same twice. This incredible invention called the
Amp Clamp makes it so I can have consistent mic placement at my DAW any
time I need it! Also, I can face my monitors and controls and I don't
have to leave a big, clumsy boom stand set up in my small NYC studio!
It works great for electric guitar speaker cabs too. Thanks Lee - you
rock!"

I used the AmpClamp for recording my own Vocals this week and it really worked great! I think its so cool!
I'm in Nashville for a few days but I am going to send emails out to my producers group when I get back about this thing.
Every DAW engineer/guitar player should have
one - at least one!
Thanks again.
